1921
Mohammed Dahmani becomes one of three ship captains in Libya to pilot a fully equipped vessel, complete with crew.
1951
Captain Omar Dahmani is appointed as port director and is tasked with the planning and building of the Tripoli port infrastructure.
1952
Designs for the port of Tripoli infrastructure are drawn up and the work begins.
1954
Construction progresses, here both the old and new port are clearly visible, in particular this was for the new NW Oil Berth.
1958
Partial operations begin, the port starts welcoming the first shipping lines and transport vessels.
1959
The port of Tripoli as it is mostly known today, construction was all but completed.
1973
Captain Omar Dahmani founds N.A.M.T.E. (North Africa Maritime and Travel Enterprise) as the general agent for American Export, Messina, Nedlloyd, and other Greek Shipping Lines.
1983
Captain Omar Dahmani founds Scandutch Shipowners which was appointed as the protecting agent for various confidential shipping lines.
1993
After the monopolization of all shipping companies in libya, Captain Omar Dahmani founds OSCL (Overseas Shipping Co. Libya) which was appointed as the sole CMA-CGM protecting agent.
2003
Captain Omar Dahmani continues as the Shipping Operation Manager at OSCL in all Libyan ports, namely: Tripoli, El-Khoms, Misurata and Benghazi.
2012
After the passing of Captain Omar Dahmani, his daughter, Nagia Dahmani takes over as the director of OSCL and as the CMA-CGM Owners’ Representative.
2024
With continued growth, Director Nagia Dahmani re-incorporates the family business under the new Dahmani Shipping Co. monicher, overseeing its’ major rebranding.
